Qualifications at Moulsecoomb Forest Garden

Carly North is founder and project manager of Trailer Trashed a not for profit youth cooking group. Trailer Trashed provide training and on site work experience in cooking and catering skills by running cafes at festivals and community events and ten week cookery courses. She supports the youth members to gain Level Two in Food Safety and is hoping to cover First Aid in the near future. Recently 2 pupils from Brighton Aldridge Communcity Academy accompanied Carly to provide crew catering for up to 450 people at Strawberry Fair in Cambridge over 4 days.

Carly also works as a sessional cookery worker for Brighton and Hove Food Partnership facilitating cookery workshops for a wide range of target audiences including young people, adults and teenagers with learning disabilities, women and care leavers.

At BACA Carly teaches cookery to small groups and on a one to one basis with pupils attending The Beacon who have special educational needs.

At Moulsecoomb Primary School Carly runs an after school cooking club and cooking with parents and their children. Youth volunteers from Trailer Trashed work with the after school club to gain valuable work experience.

At the forest garden Carly cooks every Friday using produce grown by us. Check out some of the meals.

We have places for pupils to gain valuable work experience cooking every Friday lunch time with Carly for between 20-40 people. Please contact us for more details and price.
